For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 1 Peter 3:11 KJV
I refuse to give in. I refuse to give up. I refuse to give out.
As anyone can probably tell, we are living in a time of a lot of confusion, anger and hatred that seems to be pervading the Earth. I am here to tell you, that I refuse to let it take me off the path I’m destined to follow and I challenge and urge everyone to stay the course. We may stumble from time to time, but we have to get up and get right back on track.
I’ve scrolled through my timeline on Facebook and time and time again, all I’ve seen are terrible things that made me want to just turn off my computer. I’ve watched the news; various networks and talk shows, all spinning their stories and catering to their followings and ad sponsors. I’ve heard numerous people speak of the atrocities that are taking place in our world. I’m sure you’ve seen and heard the same things. I challenge everyone to turn it off, tune it out and focus on what’s true and real…God’s love.
I refuse to give in to the media and what they would have us believe. I don’t know each and every person out there in the world. Regardless of their race, culture or creed, until you’ve walked a day in another person’s shoes, you have no idea what they are going through. We are not here to judge. We are here to uplift. We cannot give in to evil and hate. We have to love one another and continue to see the good in everyone. Don’t assume anything about a person. Talk to one another. Listen to one another. Pray for one another.
I refuse to give up. We all come short of the glory of God each day. But I refuse to give up and stop fighting for the day we will have peace. I know there are many out there that are going through much tougher battles than I have or will, but I know that we cannot give up. We must continue to believe there will be better days. Keep the faith.
I refuse to give out. I will continue to get down on my knees and pray because I know that my prayers are not falling on deaf ears. At the end of a race, many times runners are completely spent after giving everything they had to compete. As my grandmother used to say, they would be completely ‘give out’ at the end of the competition. But one thing I’ve noticed with any true competitor, no matter how ‘give out’ they were, they always got up and got right back on that line to train and to compete again and again. We have to persevere. We have to get right back into that race and never give out. Keep giving it everything you have. And if nothing else, remember…
